1994 28 Foot Tioga
Montara Motorhome RVTwo axles, with 4 wheels on the rear axle. Looking at the left side from front to back, you have the window for the guest loft above the driver window, next the dining booth window, the kitchen window, the bathroom window and the bedroom window. On the left side, just above the rear tire and to the left is a compartment that houses a hot and cold hand held outdoor shower. Other doors on the left side house the generator, electrical cords, water hoses, sewer tubes, plus water fill, gas fill and the little aft door opens to storage. |
The right side has
the main
entrance door plus an 18 x 12 foot awning that cranks out
for a shady patio."Tioga" is a Mohawk and Iroquois word referring to a place where a stream or river current forks or runs swiftly. |
This RV has a unique split
bathroom, that can be converted to a full sized bathroom that spans the
width of the motorhome. The hallway passes through the split bathroom
with the toilet and sink on the left side behind a hinged door (water
closet) and the shower on the right side. When the bedroom door is
closed and the water closet door is opened, it locks in the
hallway, and converts the bathroom to a full sized bath for maximum
privacy while showering and changing. |
The cockpit
has two captain's chairs with armrests. The passenger seat on the
right, rotates around to face the living area of the RV when not
driving. The driver's seat does not rotate around, as the booth seating
is right behind it. |
The
dashboard is like a regular van. The motorhome
has 3 doors, one for driver, one for passenger and an entrance door
with steps, for the main area of the motorhome. |
|
![]() Booth Dining Table is on the driver's side (left side). Behind the booth is a double sink, there is a window above the dining table, as well as in the galley kitchen. The table drops down to make an emergency sleeping area. All the windows slide open and have screens. |
Beneath
the aft settee is the electrical and propane hot
water heater. The forward settee hides the water tank and a
tiny
bit of storage for canned goods or odds and ends. Across from the
dining booth is two club chairs. Plenty of lights above can give you
lights where ever you desire. |
|
Two club chairs are on the right
side of the RV behind the passenger seat in the cockpit and across from
the dining booth. |
The
cocktail table in the middle is permanent, but
another table slides up and sits on top of that table, giving room for
a desk or projects. The two seats can swivel around and lock into
different positions. They also have seat belts for passengers when
underway. |
|
Behind the aft dining
booth settee and under
the sink counter, is 4
roomy drawers. The entrance door is directly across from the
drawers, on the passenger side. This Tioga Montara model came
with double sinks and a cabinet beneath plus the 4 drawers on
the
end. |
![]() The kitchen window on the left side of the RV slides open, has a screen and metal mini blinds. The stove is 3 burners with a folding metal cover, as shown, plus an oven and broiler. Up above is a built in microwave and coffee or tea maker plus more cabinets. |
|

coffee/tea maker is built in under the cabinet, which has 2 shelves, to
the left is the microwave and hood with exhaust, lights and other
control switches for the motorhome. Behind the coffee/tea maker is two
110 outlets. Stored in the cabinet below is a toaster, food chopper and
blender plus assorted cooking stuff. |

operates on propane and electricity (or generator). On the other side of the fridge, (not shown) is the side entry door to the motorhome. Above and beneath the refrigerator are cabinets. |

The bathroom has a powerful overhead exhaust fan, with a rain guard and a sunlight. THere is also a switch for a light and a fresh water pump switch you can toggle on or off. The guest loft
is over the cockpit
and spans the width of the motorhome. When not in use, it has a slide,
that goes forward and converts it to half size and gives more head room
in the cockpit. I think this was mainly designed to make the motorhome
look more spacious, as no one stands up in the cockpit and the extra
head room seems redundant. The guest loft has has windows
with
curtains on 3 sides and the 4th side has privacy curtains (facing the
living area) that can be closed off for privacy. The ladder is for the not-so-athletic to easily reach the loft. The ladder stores above the mirrored cabinet and locks into a rubber frame so it doesn't become dislodged while the RV is underway. (Picture on left) On the left side of the guest loft is a reading lamp. The loft is made up of two padded bunks, making it a queen size, there is so much room, you can also store extras up there. |
